Style: Juicy lightly oaked red wine
Taste: Black cherry, damson, chocolate, spice
Food: Pizza, tomato based pasta, Italian sausages
The Barbera grape has been grown in Piedmont's Asti region in northwest Italy
for centuries, ripening slowly under the protection of mountains on nearly all
sides. Araldica, a cooperative founded in 1954, work sustainable to tease the
best from this juicy red grape to make fresh, fruity, smooth textured wines.
Winemaker Claudio Manera makes this example exclusively for M&S, using a touch
of oak to add spice and soften the wine. Best enjoyed within 3 years of
purchase.
