The brewery, founded in 1803 in the small town of Krombach, Westfalia, was sited to take full advantage of the pure, local spring water - Felsquellwasser®. Being soft and low in minerals the water is therefore ideal for brewing Pilsener. Krombacher is a perfect marriage of old brewing traditions with modern technology and uses the finest natural ingredients: top quality hops from Hallertau, premium malt from spring barley and their own yeast strain - used fre sh, and once only, in each brew.
