What is Binchotan Stix Charcoal?
Binchotan Stix Charcoal, also known as White Charcoal, offers a truly unique and
powerful grilling experience. This potent hardwood charcoal has tradition at its
heart, as it is made following the ancient production techniques first developed
in Wakayama Japan during the 7th Century. Inside this box you will find more
long stick/branch like pieces of charcoal, rather than lumps.
Purity and performance comes from an intricate two-phase production process. The
first stage involves burning wood kilns at low temperatures while carefully
controlling oxygen flow. Once this process is complete phase two involves
increasing the temperature in the kiln to 1000°C plus for up to 24 hours. This
phase is referred to as the refinery stage where almost all impurities are
burned away and the charcoal is hardened.
The result? An extremely pure charcoal, with a whitish appearance and high
carbon content. You can even check the quality of the charcoal with a simple
tap. This is because the pieces create a very distinctive sound when tapped
together, some say it sounds like iron!
Benefits:
The real beauty of Big K Binchotan Stix Charcoal lies in the performance. We're
talking longer and hotter burn times with red-hot glowing embers which don't
emit any smoke, sparks or smell when ignited. Thanks to the high carbon content,
the charcoal is easier to manage, resisting flare ups during the cooking
process. Food tastes amazing as the natural vaporisation of juices dripping onto
the hot coals produces fantastic aromatic and subtle smoky flavours, enriching
and amplifying flavor profiles.
