This mesmerising pebble-skinned firm piece of fruit has an intense depth of
colour, beautifully fragrant and when devoured has a super sweet and tangy taste
to savour. Originating from ‘Tangier’ in Morocco being described as coming from
the ‘Mandarin’ family it dates back to the 1700’s and thrives on growing in hot
climates. Today this versatile beauty is commonly used as a snacking piece of
fruit primarily but extremely popular in salads, desserts, main dishes and just
simply covered in chocolate! In addition, the peel is used as a spice or a zest
in cooking and baking as well as in drinks alike. We aim to delight the customer
with the changing flavours and textures throughout the season and deliver only
the very best varieties such as Murcott, Clemenvilla, Tacle and Mor to name but
a few. These are supplied from South Africa, Israel, Morocco, Spain, Peru, Egypt
and Italy meaning potentially we are able to supply all year round.
