The image on the front label depicts the 18th century wishing well situated at
Château Coutet, producer of Harvey Nichols' own label Sauternes, which is one of
the classified first growths of 1855 and one of the oldest estates in the Barsac
appellation of Bordeaux. Local geography, climate and years of tradition combine
to produce this handcrafted “golden wine". This wine is a blend of Semillon
(75%), Sauvignon Blanc (23%) and Muscadelle (2%) grapes which are painstakingly
harvested by hand and then fermented and aged in new French oak barrels for 18
months. This 2012 vintage expression displays aromas of acacia flowers, citrus
and honey, with a refreshing and vibrant core characterised by further notes of
citrus, apricot and candied fruit. Delicious served chilled as an apéritif, our
own label sweet wine is also an excellent accompaniment to Asian-inspired
cuisine, makes a versatile match for a varied cheese board and a perfect partner
to fruit based desserts.
