Sweet, rich plums are simmered down into luscious, thick compote, outside Nantes
in north-west France.
Perfect for breakfast, layered with muesli and thick natural yoghurt, or with
creamy porridge. Delicious spooned over vanilla ice-cream with a drop of
Armagnac to bring out the deep, vinaceous flavours of the plums.
