All Ocado beef is sourced from Farm Assured farms in the UK and Ireland, reared to high standards of animal welfare, husbandry and with good environmental practices. Ocado beef only comes from prime beef animals. If you find your steak has become brown where the meat is touching the packaging or in-between steaks, this is because meat needs air to stay red in colour. It is the lack of air between the steak and the packaging that has caused this discolouration. This is called contact discolouration and will not affect the safety or flavour of the product.
