Butternut connoisseurs know that the best butternut is the largest fruit with a

Butternut can be roasted, toasted, pureed or mashed and can be used in
casseroles, breads and muffins. The seeds can be eaten raw but are usually
toasted, and the skin is also edible and will soften when roasted.
